Train kills Gypsy mother and baby near Brewster
A fast Wheeling and Lake Erie passenger train struck a Gypsy woman and her infant Sunday afternoon at the Bréwater yards, killing the mother instantly and injuring the child, which died later at Massillon City Hospital. The mother, about thirty, was part of a camp near the county line road. the infant was strapped to her back. The woman’s body showed severe injuries while the infant suffered multiple cuts before succumbing.
