A Dalton meeting illustrated a nine classroom shortfall now and five more next year with 11 women representing future rooms. The board aims a long range plan to add a new school and allow future expansion while emphasizing immediate needs.

Dalton faces Smithville in the first tournament game at Wooster High School on Saturday night at 8. The Bulldogs have won twice this year and seek a Canton berth. Admission is 50 cents for students and $1 for others. student tickets sold only at the school. No bands or noise makers in the gym.
A rumor suggests the Federal Postal Department may print a five cent stamp with an open center to insert the purchaser’s photo for a premium. Critics warn of privacy invasion and misuse by disgruntled neighbors and rival lovers, while chaos could erupt in domestic relations cases.
Six year old Rhoda Steiner of Apple Creek will reign as the 1964 Easter Seal Child for Wayne County. The paraplegic first grader, crippled in a 195? auto accident, has received Easter Seals aid since 1958 and now uses crutches and a wheelchair.
The Methodist Woman's Society of Christian Service met February 11 with 28 members and two guests. Devotions were led by Mrs. Raymond Weisgarber. President Mrs. Dean Monbarren reviewed My Brother Is a Stranger about walls between brothers. An invitation went out for Lent prayer breakfasts. An FM interview with Ruth Hege, Congo missionary, was shared. A letter from Rev. Wayne Culp was read. Family Night is planned February 23 to show Through Gates of Splendor. Circles meet February 25: Martha at Mrs. Wertz, Mary at Mrs. Crofut, Elizabeth at Mrs. Monbarren. Nominating chair Mrs. Dave McCullough presented the 1964-65 slate. Closed in prayer by Mrs. James West. Hostesses were Mrs. Ellis Springer, Mrs. Vaughn Kurzen, and Mrs. Myron Johnson. Valentines were made for Wayne County ladies.

A 90 member Heidelberg choir presents a concert Sunday February 23 at 8:00 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ on Fulton Road Canton. David Syler, son of Mr and Mrs Paul Syler, is a choir member.
Kathy Brown and Louise Speck seniors at Dalton high school earned spots to represent Dalton at the March 21 state speech contests. Brown placed first in oratorical and Speck fourth in the same category, with several other Dalton students competing in drama declamation original oratory and extemp events.
The Dalton local PTA convenes Thursday evening February 20 at 8:00 in the school cafeteria. Officers will be elected and a panel of parents will address teachers questions. Rev William Detweiler will speak, with music by the Dalton high school boys quartet directed by Victor B Gerber. All parents are urged to attend.
The Dalton honor roll lists 9th grade students including Russell McFarren and Mich ael McFarren, 10th grade names Kathy Hostetler and Linda Orwick, 11th grade Gregg Oswald and Roger Gerber, and 12th grade Mary Steiner and Ken Sword. Semester roll is available on page six.
