Billie J McFarren Receives First Barrett Memorial Award
Billie J McFarren, Dalton High head football coach and Wooster College alumnus, is named the first Paul V Barrett Memorial Award recipient for 1974. The honor honors coaching excellence and community impact, presented by Mrs Barrett and family. McFarren led Dalton to 131 wins, 52 losses, and four ties in 21 seasons, with good standing at Wooster College and among alumni noted by Al Van Wie.

Blue Gold Banquet Celebrating 65 Years of Scouting

Hubert Gochnauer of Young Drive Dalton was elected by the Dalton Village Council and sworn in to fill the vacancy created by Ralph Speck's resignation. An emergency ordinance hired Don E. Flath as village solicitor for two years at 600 dollars per year plus 100 for equipment.
