Ladies VFW Auxiliary Plans Election and Supper
The Dalton VFW Post 5534 Ladies Auxiliary met with 21 members. An officer election is set for March 12 after a jitney supper. Sixth District Mid-Winter Conference is February 21-22 in Salem. A door prize went to Mrs. Dague. Valentines party was held for Apple Creek State Hospital patients.

The second Sunday of Lent features Rev. L Merrel Marker delivering Inside Information in a 10 30 a m service with organ preludes and choir. Sunday School starts at 9 30, with Westminster Fellowship at 7 30 p m and a guest speaker on Middle East world relations. The Session meets February 23 at 8 p m. Women’s Association hosts the ninth annual birthday dinner February 26 at 6 30 p m with country tables and prizes. A church film on Ethiopia is planned.

Mrs Paul Plants condition after surgery at Massillon City Hospital is improving. Mr and Mrs Karl Bilger of Dover and Mrs Katherine Brazush of Marshallville visited with the Spechts. Euchre party hosted by Mrs Floyd Brinker awarded prizes to Mrs Charles Becker and Miss Linda McCullough. The WSCS will host a father son banquet February 22 at 6 pm in the church dining hall with a fine program and all fathers and sons invited.

Amos B Amstutz Rites Held at Kidron Mennonite Church
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Kidron Mennonite Church for Amos B. Amstutz 74 of Dalton RD 1 who died Sunday after three weeks ill health. A retired farmer and lifelong resident he and his wife Fannie observed their 50th wedding anniversary February 6. He is survived by his wife two sons five daughters three sisters 27 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Desvoignes Funeral Home Mt. Eaton in charge.

Dalton Senior Girl Scouts prepared Easter Seal envelopes for Dalton village and two rural routes. They collected old eye glasses to aid patients at Apple Creek and Massillon State Hospitals. Leader Mrs Miles Tachautz resigned.
