The Dalton area joins the Senior Service Corps under Wayne County Manpower Office. Sixty plus residents may work 10 hours weekly in local school libraries with Robert Slusser as coordinator. Dalton Carnival Days Sponsoring Groups Plan July Event
The Dalton Carnival Days committee lists five sponsoring groups VFW Firemen Booster Club Chamber of Commerce and Rotary with co chairs Harold Douglas and Ed Speicher and officers Kate Slusser secretary Al Westfall treasurer. An added Beard and Mustache Contest will debut this year and rides are sought for July 16 17. The group has a history of concerts in churches parks radio TV stations and visits to the Panama Canal and South America.
