Dalton Village Council approved detailed plans and specifications for the sewer and sewage treatment plant presented by Consulting Engineer Geo A Reese. The council adopted a resolution to proceed after state health department approval and said work would not begin until PWA clearance.
Newspaper ad notes a yearly subscription offer for PATHFINDER and DALTON GAZETTE at $1.30 with global and local news service. Various local items follow including a lost horse, a bedfast person up, a new pencil, a family weekend, a fall injury, a new baby, a fall for Amos, Kent State high school day participants, Lincoln day banquet, Springfield rifles for VFW funerals, and Maine sinking anniversary.
Adam Plank died last Friday morning at his La Junta Colorado home after growing up near Smithville and marrying Sophia Kurzen. He lived in Nampa Idaho before moving to La Junta and recently spent time in Ohio with relatives. Survived by wife Sophia two sons Walter and Elmer daughter Mrs Rose Evers six grandchildren and sister Mrs Ella Garver of Virginia. Paul Plank preceded him in death.
Marion Spindler age 39 of Massillon died suddenly Tuesday at 8 45 p m from heart failure while en route to Columbus for treatment of a nervous breakdown. He worked for Igelstrom Sign Co in Massillon. Survivors include his widow, one sister Mabel of Massillon, and parents Mr and Mrs J W Spindler of Burton City. Funeral Thursday 2 p m at Arnold funeral home Massillon with Rev H F Patterson officiating. Burial in Dalton cemetery.
The Ladies Chorus of eighteen voices meets every Monday evening from 7 00 to 8 30 to study music appreciation alongside their regular curriculum. They aim to interpret songs more fully for audiences and solicit ongoing support.
The Dalton postoffice will close on Washington's birthday Monday February 22 at 9 30 am no rural delivery or mail service during closure
The Sportsmen's club of Wayne County reports 4000 plus licenses issued generated 1072.95 dollars for restocking. Distribution included 61.50 for birds 232.25 for raccoon and 161.25 for rabbits. Dalton and Sugar Creek dealers contributed 88.25, second to Worcester. Dalton dealers listed as McDowell Hardware and Scott's Store.
The Dalton Rod and Gun club will meet Thursday evening February 18 in the club rooms at the Dalton Paint Shop. Cards and other entertainment are planned with refreshments served.

In Dalton high school auditorium Friday evening the eastern division contest honored four winners. Lucille Meske of Dalton and Geraldine Ault of Doylestown won drama with The Littlest Orphan and the Christ Baby and The White Hands of Telham. Betty Ann Bush and Keith Smith won humorous readings with Exit the Big Bad Wolf and I Betcha. They advance Feb 17 to face western and northern sections.
The First National Bank will be closed all day February 22 for a national holiday. In local notes, Palmeil Midds at Dalton Milling lists a special this week a splendid 6c tablet for 4c each. Dalton High School beat Creston 31 to 25 on the local floor Tuesday night. Score by quarters shows Dalton leading 8 12 25 31 to 7 11 15 25. Friday night Dalton travels to Fredericksburg to face the undefeated Fredericksburg team with a win tying the county league championship.
