Baumgartner Guilty Of Manslaughter In Mt. Eaton Crash
Judge Walter J. Mougey found Albert Baumgartner of Kidron guilty of second degree manslaughter in the Dorothy Matter case. The trial in Wooster Common Pleas ended after juryless proceedings with a verdict at noon Friday. Baumgartner received one year probation, must pay costs, and loses driving privileges for one year.

Wengers in County Jail After Stolen Goods Confession
Mr and Mrs Russell Wenger of Rt 2 near Dalton are jailed while awaiting arraignment. Sheriff Mills and Deputies Kiener and Shelley report Wenger admitted several crimes in recent months and that they stole many items including a new bathtub wiring for a house and chickens from multiple locations in Stark county near Massillon.

Leaves For Western Tour Start Won by Accident
John Good a prominent Baughman farmer started Thursday from Urichsville for Columbus to join a farmers tour of the west coast Mexico and the West Indies. A truck rammed his Dodge at Urichsville breaking the motor and delaying his journey. He then took taxis to Columbus and later flew to St Louis to catch the train and rejoin the group with Haverstock and Davis.
