Dalton Shocked By Double Tragedy
Dalton awoke Sunday to news from Los Angeles of the shooting death of attorney N R Cooney by his wife Lara Horbach Cooney who then killed herself. The couple, long residents of California after leaving Cleveland, were later to have Ohio connections and Cooney had served as Dalton mayor in 1909. The bodies are being returned to Ohio with arrangements pending.

John F Budd death obituary from Dalton
John F Budd, longtime Dalton resident, died Saturday at 11 20 am after a brief broncho pneumonia illness. He was 64, born Sept 16 1858 in West Lebanon Ohio, taught school young, worked at Enterprise Aluminum Works Massillon, and was active in the M E church and local civic affairs. He leaves a wife Naomi Reese Budd, daughter Ola Mossop, mother, sisters, half brothers, and many friends. The funeral was held Tuesday at the M E church with burial in Dalton cemetery.
