Austin Brown Hurt in Wagon Accident Near Dalton
Austin Brown about 55 fell from his wagon while returning from Massillon with coal near the Oliver Beals farm east of Dalton. He suffered a fractured skull possible, broken jaw, crushed shoulder and arm, extensive facial lacerations, and severe bruising. Mrs Lehman found him. Beals summoned aid. Arnold's ambulance and Dr Wenger treated him at home. Serious condition with risk of pneumonia from exposure.

Mine No 25 Worked Out at Wertz Farm Mine
The Massillon coal company’s Mine No 25 on the Wertz farm near the southern corporation line closed Saturday. Sinking began in 1912 and halted in October due to quicksand. A fatal accident on November 17 caused by a shaft collapse 60 feet below the surface killed Adam Utsler and William Grabill. Coal was reached December 28, 1912, and the mine operated through 1913, totaling under four years of actual operation.
