This notes an extreme winter with days of severe cold for months. Reports say temperatures dipped to 22 below in the east end and 6 below elsewhere. Another stinger Saturday left the mercury near 19 below zero in the early morning and not rising above freezing all day.
Willis Horst, 18 months old, suffered a severe thumb injury after it was caught in a wringer while his mother, Mrs. Jonas Horst, washed clothes on Ella Street Wednesday morning. Doctor Campbell attended, noting a severely mangled thumb.
Mrs. Annie Weisgarber aged 72 wife of Jacob Weisgarber Sr of near Stanwood died February 6 after a brief illness from pneumonia. Born in Lancaster County Pennsylvania she is survived by her husband a son from a former marriage Eugene Buzzle of California four granddaughters of Plymouth Indiana two brothers George Locke Canton road and William Locke Dalton. Funeral was Thursday at 10 a m at Stanwood church officiated by Rev Flohr with interment in Massillon cemetery. Floral tributes were profuse and beautiful.
Mrs W S Bailey of McCreary Kentucky suffered la grippe that turned to bronchitis with severe coughing and sleepless nights. After trying Foley's Honey and Tar Compound she found relief and was permanently cured, as stated by A J White.
Abner G Orr a well known Green township farmer died at his Parad ise home Friday noon at 56 years old after a six month liver illness. He was born in East Union township married Bechtel and moved to the Bechtel farm. He leaves a wife four children and a stepson family attended the funeral from the Orr residence with interment at Orrville.
