A Missoula Montana letter describes a severe winter with 20 below in January and 40 below in Helena, heavy snow the deepest since 1888, railway disruptions on the Northern Pacific, coal shortages but ample wood, and sleigh riding resumed. The author notes delayed westbound trains and the local calm despite cold. Signed Anna M. Byall.
A Muskogee style orphans letter from Mannboro Virginia dated January 28 1907 to Homer Jameson recounts a 14 year old boy named William Greek living with grandparents who have died. He attends Mrs Thompkins private school and Sabbath school at her home. The family lacks a church or school building and asks for prayers to build one.
The Jr O U A M banquet in Montrose last Friday drew about one hundred attendees at Goudys hall. An evening program featured music by a brass quartet, a paper titled My Own United States by Geo. C. Freet, a vocal solo, an original poem, and a reading The Objects of the Order by Warren Aker, followed by supper and social time led by toastmaster C W Horn.
Burton City social and personal items note Miss Ada Culp and Dawn Schaefer with Ira Culp and Claud Schafer at Dalton banquet. Several from North Lawrence attended a rink evening. some train delays marred plans. Mrs Shull dies. funeral held. Various visits and travels among Ada Bodine Ethel Kehm Ada Rehrer and others. The tiredest man there is the one who is tired of renting.
The Expexy Club met at the Clapper sisters home to observe McKinley Day on January 29 and Lincoln Day on February 12. A compelling program on Lincoln's life was presented and hostesses provided pleasant refreshments. Fourteen members answered roll call and agreed to meet in one week.
At a Massillon Board of Trade meeting the extension of the street railway from Wooster street to East Greenville and Dalton was debated. A committee was formed to negotiate with the N Q O T Co for construction, amid strong public backing and council explanations of past efforts and delays.
Abraham Schneck is sick with heart disease but improving somewhat. Peter Moser, near five score, grows weaker daily. Mr Brunk seeks interest in a Sanitarium project at La Junta Colorado. A literary will is set for Kidron Friday night. Sonnenberg school plans an entertainment Saturday. D Kirchhofer to Wooster for Dye murder jury duty. Chicken-pox spreads. several youths suffer. Sem Geiger plans a new house on his farm.
Property on East Main Street featuring a residence and barn. House has seven rooms with pantry and storage closets in each room, half-story and full, all hardwood finish. Fruit, coal and furnace rooms in cellar. Furnace heat, drilled well, and back door well closet. All in good repair.
The Gazette Office announces the public sale season with bills printed at the office. A notice similar to this one will be ready before sale time, and a book of special sale notes will be provided free with printed bills.

On Tuesday February 19 C A Gerber will sell at his residence three miles north of Mt. Eaton and five miles south of Dalton. Items include three work horses two driving horses one yearling colt twelve mixed cows three Heifers two coming fresh three yearling calves a broad sow five shoats and a variety of farm implements and wagons.
