Dalton Bulldogs win their 12th straight league game by beating Applecreek 44 to 20 at home. Dalton’s strong defense limited Applecreek’s scoring and the reserves added a 42 to 19 victory while the Dalton B-team also finished undefeated for the league season.
The Dalton Garden Club met with Mrs Veryl Bach for a February gathering. Members shared valentines, heard papers on keeping gift plants blooming and making a cold frame for seeds, exchanged houseplants, and bade farewell to charter member Mrs Carl Lawrence who moves to California. The March meeting in the high school sewing room will feature Miss Kathryn Seagar, Mrs Mary Keirn hosting, and guest speaker Mr C W Ellen wood from the Ohio Experiment Station on home orchard care. The event is open to the public.
The Dalton Fire Department announces openings for volunteer firemen. Requirements include age 21, regular meeting attendance, and knowledge of equipment to be taught in March classes. Apply in writing to Bob Buchanan, Secretary, Dalton, QO.
Miss Loretta Hipkins and Glenn D. Martin exchanged vows in a Ninth Street Church of Christ ceremony read by Evangelist Paul S. Gray. Maid of honor LaVene Stephen and best man Leslie Sandwith supported the couple, who will reside at 2244 Tenth St. Akron after a reception at a friend's home.
Miss Jane E. Young and Doyle C. Horst were married Saturday night at the home of the Horst family in Dalton. Rev. A R Horst officiated with Walter Zerechel and Carol Hammond in attendance. The couple planned a New York and Canada honeymoon. bride wore aqua and fuchsia outfits. Mrs. Carl Goudy remains hospitalized after an operation.
Former Dalton resident Mrs Marie Regina Feasel 76 died February 9 at her home 281 E Kent Rd Stow Ohio Widow of Burton Feasel. Survived by two sons Emmett DeLand Fla Ellis Stow one daughter Edna McKay Stow and three grandchildren. Funeral services held Eckard Akron 11 AM Wed and 2 PM Dalton Presbyterian Church Rev Keith M Leg officiating Burial in Dalton cemetery.

Dalton schools shut Monday as roads blocked by snow drifts hindered bus travel. Lester Monbarren attended the Bi County Funeral Directors district meeting and banquet at Smithville Inn. Mr and Mrs Carl Lawrence left for Santa Monica California to Newark to visit Robert Lawrences then Cincinnati to see Andrew Scotts. Then travel toward California.
Mrs Clarence Gardner expresses gratitude to friends neighbors for cards meals visits and kindness during illness. She thanks the Ladies Society and The Loyal You and I class for flowers and conveys lasting appreciation to all who helped.
The Dalton Community Guild hosts a dance at the high school gym on Saturday night February 15 with Garver's Dixielanders providing the music. The public is invited.
The Dalton Community Club gathers in the Presbyterian basement on Thursday February 13 at 6 30 P M for a meal featuring city chicken mashed potatoes creamed lima beans relish plate salad rolls butter jelly cherry pie and coffee. Weekend guests included Clareene Motz Akron J B Hunter Cuyahoga Falls and the Frey family Quincy Mass as they attended the golden wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs J L Minser at Mt Eaton.
The official Department of Agriculture thermometer on the Dalton school grounds recorded hourly temperatures for a 24 hour period starting at 8 a.m. High reached 10 to 22 degrees in the period.
