The Dalton Farmers Institute met over two days in a split venue with sessions in the Presbyterian and Methodist churches. State speakers and local talent presented on balanced rations dairy farming and kitchen roles while crowds packed every session and praised the program.

The heaviest snow of the season fell Friday night but was shallow. Local residents made visits between Trail Holmes County and Jericho. Several property sales were announced including Cyrus Bowers selling 152 acres to Levi Steiner and John J. Bixler selling land to Andrew Hofstetter. Jacob Hofstetter plans an electric light plant in Jericho. Peter Hofstetter Sr. remains seriously ill, and the Amstutz family near Dalton receives sympathy as Miss Alice Amstutz, a church member and Sunday school teacher, is committed to the Massillon State Hospital for treatment due to escalating mental health concerns from overwork.

Firestone-Wertz Nuptials in Wooster Home
Miss Alice Mary Firestone and Mr. John T. Wertz were married Wednesday afternoon at 3 30 in the Firestone home on Beall avenue. Rev John Neilson officiated. The couple planned a quiet future with hopes Mrs Wertz will remain in Wooster despite the grooms coal and oil interests and business in Dalton.

Letter From Overseas Describes Move To Rhine Front
Charles W. Wilson of the 126th Infantry, Company A, 32nd Division writes from Gladlock Germany. He notes multiple letters received, poor pay for four months, rain over Christmas, and a long march from the Rhine crossing on December 13. He recalls service in France England Belgium Luxemburg and Germany, and mentions General Pershing and hob nail marching for about two hundred miles.
