Blaze Destroys Lab At Corundite Refractories
The Dalton Fire Company answered a Tuesday alarm at Corundite Refractories Co. near Massillon where defective wiring caused a lab area to burn. The fifty by fifty foot building collapsed its lab contents but the main factory remained intact. Water from a frozen Newman's Creek was pumped through holes cut to reach water. Canal Fulton and Navarre fire crews assisted.

Burglars Attempt Safe Theft at Buckeye Feed Mill
Last Wednesday night burglars broke into the Buckeye Feed Mill on East Schultz Ave and tried to rob the safe. Mr Stultz reported to the sheriff that the safe knob was knocked off and the door hammered with a heavy instrument, but the thieves could not open the safe.

John Strohm associate editor of the Country Gentleman and world traveler will give an illustrated lecture at Smithville High School Friday February 13 at 1 30 pm. The talk titled Behind the Iron Curtain is at joint NFLA and PCA meetings with six hundred seats for the public. Strohm recently conferred with Secretary of State George C Marshall on the Russian Situation and is noted as the only reporter to enter southern Russia since the war with permission from Premier Stalin.
