Dalton Community Club Holds Dinner and Meeting
The Dalton Community Club met in the U P church dining room Thursday at 6 30. Rev R G Pinkerton gave the invocation and church ladies served a chicken dinner. Members approved a $10 Red Cross donation for flood surfers and set guest night for March 4 in the high school auditorium with Home Economics girls led by Miss Pickens.

Nancy Hanks born in Patterson's Creek Virginia in 1784 grew up in poverty and learned to read write and sew. She married Thomas Lincoln in 1806 and their son Abraham Lincoln showed his hunger for learning inspired by her. She died of milk sickness at age thirty four near southern Indiana leaving a lasting influence on her son and his famous epitaph.
