Dalton Council Minutes Report February Session
The Dalton Council met February 7 with Race Houghton Owens and Clapper present. Bills approved include McDowell 28.74 for tile and sewer pipe, Myers 151.00, Hess 4.00, Caldwell 3.00, Thompson 2.10, Harig 1.92, Barrett 4.00, Gardner 2.10, Hamilton 48.75, Haney 10.00. An semi annual appropriation ordinance was passed and 18 claims against Ohio Paving Co. filed by Attorney Reinoehl. Dr. J C Haney took oath as health officer. Wayne County Telephone Co. sought a franchise to lay a line in Dalton. referred to ordinance committee. Council adjourned to Feb. 17.

Seven Children Placed in Dalton Family Home
Seven of ten Mc Farren children from Dalton, in destitute circumstances, were taken to the Children’s Home in Toledo. The mother had been with them there. the father remained in Dalton. The children ages two and a half to thirteen were reported singing at the home, praised by Matron Mrs. Jarvis.

Temporary Suspension of Sentence in Slutz Case
Circuit Court on Wednesday granted Alfred T. Slutz a suspension of execution of sentence for assault on Helen Franke after his attorney filed for delay until the bill of exceptions could be prepared. Prosecutor Critchfield urged strict bond, and the judge set the next review for September.
