Tragic Ice Drowning Claims Gardner Couple at Torch Lake Belaire
Mr and Mrs George Gardner formerly of Orrville drowned while skating on Torch lake Belaire Michigan their ages 27 and 24 years old and two orphaned children remain. Mrs Gardner slipped into an air hole and her husband attempted rescue both disappeared beneath the ice as cries drew in Paul Gardner brother who tried to throw aid. Rescue attempts failed and authorities await thaw to recover bodies. The Geiser family and Orrville community mourn the loss of the couple in a tragic accident.
