The Dalton area reports births to Mr and Mrs Nevin Kratzer on January 26 and to Mr and Mrs Ken Hackett on February 5. John C Gerber, longtime farmer of Sig ar Creek Twp, turns 87 on February 5 and still farms Reservoir Rd. Ohio University students home for mid semester break include Jeff Slusser and others. Dewey Bowers, once of Dalton, marries Ada Panarra Merkle in Reno on January 5 and will live in Patterson California. Mr and Mrs C V Amstutz spent a Florida vacation. Mrs Frank Steiner recovering from a heart attack in Dunlap Memorial Hospital with expected two week stay. The flu remains active with Rev Paul Price unable to lead services. Local trips note 60th wedding anniversary for Roy and wife Oberlin. Dalton's Barbarettes: Dalton Ladies Barbershop Quartet

The Barberettes, a Dalton based quartet, include Mrs. Gene Grim, Mrs. Ned Biggs, Mrs. Harold Douglas, and Mrs. Robert Berg. Janice Grim leads musical arrangements. each member is a Dalton High alum with family ties, church involvement, and prior singing in local groups. Dalton Garden Club Meeting at Presbyterian Church

The Dalton Garden Club met at the Presbyterian Church on Thursday February 1 with Mrs. Myron Johnson as hostess and Miss Kathryn Seager in charge of devotions. Carl Weis spoke on Canton City Parks with slides from all four seasons. Officers were installed by Mrs. Boyd Peck. each received a flower representing her office. The next meeting will be at the Fred Blosser home with Mrs. Boyd Peck as assistant hostess.

President Harold Douglas presided as Dr. Buchwalter gave the invocation. E L Springer introduced Bob Baker, Killbuck District Boy Scout Executive, who praised leaders and den Mothers and urged developing good in every boy to shape them into good citizens.
