Details of Fatal Plane Crash Near Biggs Field
Rollin Moser located survivor John Yachavia near El Paso and learned first hand of the July 28 crash of a B 24 Liberator from Biggs Field. The crew of ten and two passengers perished after engine trouble forced a landing on a hog ranch. The wreck scattered fuel explosions, with Herman Moser among the dead. Yachavia survived after being burned but was saved by a ranch cook. Parts from the nose and other gear were recovered and a crew portrait was sent home.

Bus Crash Victim Dies in Ohio After Wreck
Robert Gregory, 26, of Curbin Kentucky, driver of the bus in the December 29 crash east of Dalton near the Stark Wayne county line, died at Massillon City Hospital Friday night. He was the second fatality from the accident. Dr. C A Curl of Wooster had died January 4 from injuries. Nearly 30 people were injured.

The Dalton Fire Department responded Friday around noon to the Paul Ressler home on the Cynthia Camp farm. The smokehouse was severely damaged but adjacent buildings sustained no damage.

Daniel H. Martin 86 Dies After Fire Related Injury
Daniel H. Martin 86 of Weilersville area died Sunday evening at Wayne County Hospital after weeks of pain from burns received when he fell in a cellar carrying a lit lantern. He farmed until retirement and is survived by two sons Ira and Mahlon, a daughter Nettie White, a brother E S Martin, 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Paradise Union Church with burial in the church cemetery.
