The Ladies of the U P Church will host a lunch in the church basement during the Farmers Institute on February 9 and 10. Menu includes chicken soup with crackers for 10 cents, vegetable soup for 8 cents, sandwiches hamburgers and wieners for 5 to 10 cents, pie 5 cents, and coffee. Proceeds support church activities.

Serious Injuries From Dynamite Explosion Near Pleasant View
Earl Ott of Burton City, brother of Walter Ott, was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when a dynamite charge failed to explode and exploded as he investigated the hang fire. The blast crushed his chest, blinded him in one eye, and caused additional injuries. He was rushed to Worcester hospital with poor prospects for recovery.

Canton driver killed in Massillon truck wreck
Killed at Massillon Wade Skull 33 of 12th street NW Canton died at 7 35 p m in Massillon City hospital from injuries when the truck he was driving was demolished on the Penna Lincoln Way crossing at Massillon at 4 35 Saturday by a fast freight. D B Buck Warner 28 also of Canton riding with him was killed instantly. Shull was a lifelong Canton resident and a member of Washington council 12 Jr O U A M and Moose lodge. Survived by widow Mrs Ethel Shull two sons Edwin and Leonard one stepson Russell Harmon parents Mr and Mrs Leonard E Shull and three brothers all of Canton.

Orlando Neal Dies After Stroke in Canton Area
Orlando Neal, 72, died last Thursday morning at his son Lawrence Neal's home on the former Santmyer farm near Dalton after a stroke a week earlier. He moved here about a year ago from Canton and is survived by five sons Lawrence, William, Howard, Olen and Russell all of Canton. a daughter Mrs Edward Rushong of Canton. 13 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral was held Saturday at Murray Funeral Home with Rev. L G Miller officiating. Interment in Forest Hill Cemetery, Canton.

Dalton High apple judging team led by David Lehman Dale Miller and Jay Buchwalter with Ward Hofstetter alternate took second at Ohio State University Feb 2 scoring 5200 of 6000. Savannah won with 5300. Fifty apples were identified across ten classes among 70 teams. Coach Stanley Tschantz and Veryl Bach previously won contests.
