The Presbyterian church hosts evangelistic meetings with strong attendance despite cold weather. The evange list and his wife lead vibrant singing and powerful sermons. A women’s meeting drew about 100 attendees through the storm and a men’s meeting is planned for next Sabbath at 2 30.
Julius Jacot is named postmaster at Applecreek after a civil service exam. He is a school teacher by trade with solid education and was one of three candidates certified for the position. Washington formally announced the appointment on Tuesday. He promises to manage the office to satisfy all patrons.
The Wheeling and Lake Erie Railway filed a mortgage with County Recorder Fleming Fisher to the Central Trust Company of New York. The loan of 50 million dollars is repayable at four to five million dollars per year and due in 1966. It is noted as one of the county’s largest mortgage records.

A quiet Wednesday noon wedding at the Perry S. Moore home north of Orrville united Nellie Moore to Kellus Buchanan. Rev. C. H. Gruber performed the ceremony with only immediate family present. Kellus is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Buchanan of Shreve.
West Lebanon couple Charles and Mrs. McClelland celebrate a second honeymoon after withdrawing divorce filings from common pleas court. Each side had sought separation for cruelty but they say reconciliation will continue their marriage and domestic harmony. A friend notes their renewed happiness.
The Dalton village council met with Mayor Erwin approving H. Wolf’s removal and C. Camp’s appointment to fill the term. Welty received bond and oath as Street Commissioner.
