Irvin Sword returns home from a 9 day Surrough at Williams Field Arizona after 4 months at Sheppard Field Texas. Cpl Robert L Groff arrives home on 315 days Sears from Oceanside California after 2 1/2 years at Pearl Harbor Kyushu Japan. Roy E Kamph comes home from service in Germany and France, discharged at Indiantown Gap Pennsylvania. Capt Glenn McAfee returns from the South Pacific after over three years, overseas since July 1944, in New Guinea the Philippines and Japan. Tech Sergeant Bob Zebner of the Air Corps visits relatives in Somerset Pennsylvania after four years in South America Africa and Italy including the Battle of the Bulge. Grandson Cpl Wh S Leedale arrives in New York City after a 23 day voyage from Antwerp Belgium, credited with three years in the Army and a Purple Heart, son of Ada S Leedale of Elyria and Baldwin Wallace alum.

Two Foxes Taken in Weekend Roundup

Several hundred participated in a two fox roundup on Saturday with two foxes taken. Walter Ott of Dalton shot the morning fox and Harvey Flowers of Akron took the afternoon fox after lunch.

Boy Scouts Receive Charter From Dalton Rotary Club

A A Ulrich presented a charter to troop 22 sponsored by the Dalton Rotary club at a Dalton Book restaurant dinner. The troop committee chairman thanked Rotarians and noted scouting embodies service above self as the charter was taken to the troop room for presentation to Scoutmaster Frank McAdams.

Johnston Stillwagner Nuptials In Wooster Home

Miss Effie Johnston daughter of Mrs. Alice Johnston Massillon and Charles Stillwagner son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Stillwagner Wooster Ohio were married at the groom’s parents’ home. The ceremony seven PM January 26 was read by Rev Brock. Witnesses included both families and friends. Stillwagner recently discharged from the navy.

Berg Lintern Wed at Methodist Parsonage

Miss Marilyn Berg and Ramon Lintern married at the Methodist parsonage with Rev. L E Flauhaus officiating. Attendants were Mrs Wanda Guleff and Richard Fabrney. The bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs Wm Berg, wore gray wool and pink car nations as she became Mrs Lintern. Seaman Lintern of the U S Navy, son of the Kyle Linterns, returned to Camp Peary, Virginia. Mrs Lintern will reside with her parents for now.

Gordon Roberts Dies in Massillon Hospital

Gordon Roberts, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Charles Roberts formerly of Dalton, died Sunday in Massillon state hospital after a long illness of sleeping sickness. Funeral services were held Wednesday. He had been an invalid since childhood.

Mrs Elmer Van Dersall and infant son were brought home from Massillon city hospital Tuesday in Arnold's ambulance. Mrs Frank Culler and Mrs Dan Moser spent the weekend with Miss Elizabeth Cully at the Dolly Love Presbyterian home at Sidney.

Dalton Bay Graduates Honors Bluffton Student

David Rosenberger of Bluffton College completed his A B degree with history as his major. He was president of the Student Council and active in campus life. He earned an honor scholarship for scholastic achievement and leadership and plans to sell Farm Bureau Insurance. He is the son of Reverend and Mrs A S Rosenberger of Dalton Ohio.

Night of Music Thrills Massillon Audience at High School

A large audience welcomed the Massillon Chapter Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America at a Night of Music.
