Buckeye Feed Mill Fire prompts rebuild plan

Dalton area farmers swept awards at the Corn Award banquet in Orrville. FFA division top honor went to Mike West with a gold pin and trophy, while Earl Miller earned a 154 bushel per acre gold pin. Adult division honors went to Paul Ressler with a gold pin, and bronze and silver pins were awarded to multiple growers including Bob Springer, Don West, Olen Neuenschwander, Lester Wenger, Terry West, Don Snodorf, Bill Farris, and Milt Falk.

The Dalton Board of Education met with School Superintendent John Lea and Wayne County Vocational Director Robert Zimpfer to discuss common problems. In unrelated actions the board approved free lunch for the needy and granted travel for staff to statewide workshops and conventions in Columbus.
