Baby Born Enroute To Hospital Near Dalton

Loyal and Mrs. Santmyer welcomed a son after a cold trip to Beeson Hospital. A neighbor lent a car, then Auble’s ambulance transported the mother three miles west of Dalton where the birth occurred near Alpine. Dr Beeson reported all in good health and credited the father Perry and driver Herry Auble for their help.

March of Dimes Campaign Extended to February 15

Time extended publicity chairman Paul Schultz announced Saturday that the 1948 March of Dimes campaign had been extended to Feb. 15.

Dalton High basketball results slide across nights

Dalton High School suffered a 60 to 49 league loss to Fredericksburg on Friday with the reserves falling 43 to 31. On Saturday at Strasburg the team lost 84 to 34 and the reserves 31 to 14. Tuesday at Orroville Dalton won 40 to 38 in a close finish.

Dr. McDill spoke at The Home and School League meeting held Thursday in the school auditorium. Raymond Ross chaired the session while Mrs. Leslie Moser reported over 700 dollars in the treasury. The Martin church male quartet performed and a color film on disease defense was shown. Pie and coffee were served in the Home Economics room.

The Ohio Bell Telephone Company filed with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio for new charges expected to raise annual revenue by about 8.5 million dollars, a nine percent increase. Local rises would affect Dalton and other cities by varying amounts across residential and business services including line increases and changes to four party and two party lines.
