Glenda Yungen of Dalton High has been named the 1965 Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow. She led in a December 1 written homemaking exam and will compete for state and national honors, with a $1500 General Mills scholarship for the winner and $500 for the state runner-up. The state winner’s school receives Britannica, and a tour of Colonial Williamsburg, Washington, and New York City accompanies the honor.

Betty Gingerich of Dalton High School has been chosen as co ed correspondent for the 1964 65 school year by Miss Margaret Hauser editor of Co ed magazine. Selected by the junior and senior home economics class for leadership and enthusiasm for home economics she will serve as junior advisor to the editors and report on Dalton activities to Co ed.

Rob ert Johnson Killed In Wooster Auto Crash
Robert George Franklin Johnson 32 died in an auto crash in Wooster on Wednesday January 27. A lifelong Dalton resident and U S Marine 1951 54 he worked at Quality Castings Orrville. Funeral services were held Sunday at Monbarren Funeral Home with Rev Paul Price officiating. Interment at East Greenville Cemetery. Survivors include his wife daughter Robbie Jeanne son Robert Michael and his parents. He belonged to Loyal Order of Moose Orrville Army and Navy Union Massillon and Dalton Volunteer Fire Department.

Bulldogs defeat Chipps 82 72 in Friday contest
Randy Nussbaum led the Bulldogs with 27 points as Wayne County beat Doylestown 82 to 72. Ron Gonter scored 18, Huff 11, Snavely 10, Oswald 5, Danny Gonter 4, McFarren 3, and Myers Zuercher 2 in his varsity debut. The Bulldogs remain 8-4 and next host Norwayne and Smithville.

Scouts to Celebrate Week With Dalton Park Campout
The 15th and 16th of January saw the Boy Scouts of Dalton camp near Wooster despite cold weather. They enjoyed time with new Scouts and will continue Scout week with a February 5th to 7th park campout and open visits. Meetings for interested boys and parents occur the first Monday of each month at the Presbyterian church annex.
