The Dalton bank hosted a corn show January 19 to 24 judged by D W Gatehouse of Marshallville. Prizes awarded by First National Bank honored many contestants across FFA and senior divisions, with multiple residents named for first second and third prizes in varieties including DeKalb Funk G Ohio and yellow popcorn.

The two Circles of the Methodist church met on Tuesday evening at the church to reorganize for the year. A social time was enjoyed and refreshments were served.

Dalton Rotary heard Boy Scout executive Stuart Rila of Massillon describe industry and business efforts behind Buckeye Camp near Beach City. He presented the 1955 Scout charter and showed a film of the camp where 1500 Scouts from Massillon and eastern Wayne County learn, live and become better citizens.
