Dalton Farmers Institute Draws Large Crowds in High School
Attendance at six sessions averaged 584 with 579 last year as the Dalton Institute featured talks by Mr. Wagner and Mrs. Maxwell. A packed Thursday night audience heard the drama An Old Fashioned Mother. Dennis Arnold was elected president. Mrs. Allen Rudy re elected secretary. G A Dustman praised the institute as the largest in Wayne County and noted 89 poster entries. District honors led to multiple prize awards across poster and community fair categories, with numerous students named for top placements.

Obituary for Ida May Moser and family ties
Ida May Moser nee McClelland was born January 20 1869 near Pleasant Valley Wayne County Ohio and died January 21 1928 Massillon Ohio at age 59. She married William F Pratt October 16 1885 and after his death June 6 1905 had four children Mertie Gardner LeRoy Pratt Dalton Earl Pratt who died 1927 and Edyth Currie. She married Daniel Moser August 20 1908 who survives with father Levi McClelland one half sister six half brothers fourteen grandchildren two great grandchildren and ten step children all mourn her. She joined the United Brotherhood church at Pleasant Valley and remained faithful to her Lord dying trusting in salvation. She was a loving wife and mother and patient in sickness waiting for the Lord.

Sugar Creek Township high school will send Harry Santmyer Edwin Lehman and Raymond Wilson to the Ohio Apple Judging Contest at Ohio State University Columbus on Feb 3. The team competes against 74 Ohio teams and will judge apple varieties on merit color size and final placing. They depart Thursday for Farmers Week and return Friday.
