Tragedy at Kidron Claims Mary Badertscher in Crash

A baker from Orrville drove into five girls walking near Gerber's Store on Christmas night near Kidron injuring Vesta Sommer and three others. Mary Jane Badertscher, 16, died about an hour after being taken to Massillon City Hospital. Ali Jubin posted $5000 bond on a manslaughter charge and was released to await further proceedings.

Mary Jane Badertscher Sonnnenberg Victim Remembered

Mary Jane Badertscher Sonnnenberg born April 18 1920 near Kidron Ohio daughter of John and Fanny Badertscher. A Kidron Tabernacle member and Dalton High junior she is mourned by her mother sisters Hulda Martha and brother Thomas Lee with extended family in Indiana and Ohio. Funeral services were held at the house and Kidron Tabernacle conducted by Rev F C Imhoff with burial at Salem Mennonite cemetery.

Mrs Sue Hartman Kirk 81 of Orrville wife of S M Kirk died from injuries after an auto crash on December 15 at Wooster hospital. Funeral held Sunday at 2 p m in the family home 446 West Market Street Orrville with Rev Caldwell officiating and interment in Crown Hill cemetery.

Dalton Couple Wed in Private Christmas Eve Ceremony

Marie Ethel Tschantz and Harry Blosser married in a single ring ceremony at 6 p.m. on December 26 1936 at the bride’s home with immediate family present. Both graduates of Dalton High School class of 1933, the couple plans to reside on East Main Street after a trip to the East Coast.

Miss Alice Lehman daughter of Ad dison Lehman and Mr Nelson Douglas son of Mrs Demna Douglas wed at 1 30 pm Tuesday December 29 Rev R G Pinkerton officiated before immediate families. The bride wore petunia velvet with silver trim and gardenias with a silver hat. After the ceremony the couple left for a wedding trip and plan a reception at Mr and Mrs Guy Douglas in Orrville next Sunday. Both newlyweds are Dalton High School graduates. Mrs Douglas studied beauty culture in Canton and works in Orrville. Mr Douglas works for Smucker Preserving Co in Orrville.

Elden Reidenbach and Emma Miller, both of Millersburg, were united in marriage at Rev. I. J. Buchwalter’s home on Thursday evening December 24 at 6 o'clock. They will reside at the McFarren farm near West Lebanon after January 1.
