Santmyer Service posted the season best 2774 in the Dalton League last week to top Bach Bros 4-0. C Shankleton 182 207 174 573 paced the squad, with Koontz 546 Begert 544 J Barnett 530 and Troyer 463 contributing. Merchants claimed second with 2740, while Sandwith suffered a thumb injury and returned to help his team. Other scores included Eckard 591 and 233 by Shammo, with several 200s noted.

Christmas Program At Apple Creek State Hospital

A Christmas program was presented at the Apple Creek State Hospital last week with the Presbyterian Wom en Dalton Garden Club and Fire Auxiliary providing gifts and refreshments. The event featured carols an accordion solo by Charles Meier vocal duets by Phyllis Bixler and Katy Buchwalter a humorous reading by Kathryn Mentzer and a Christmas Story by Mrs. Frei Blosser. Santa Claus joined 13 in the Dalton group and handed out gifts to all the parents. Refreshments included ice dream cookies candy and popcorn balls baked by Mrs.

Equity Adds Office Space For Dalton Cooperative Exchange

Equity expands its office with a 15 by 32 foot concrete block addition on the west side. The new showroom will display merchandise and include a concrete floor and a south side entrance. The existing office measures 22 by 32 feet.

Rita Lehman was honored at a surprise party on her 13th birthday Wednesday evening December 12 at the Warnock home. Grandmothers Mrs Marie DeArment and Mrs Grace Lehman of Orrville helped celebrate with a dhingo game and birthday cake and ice cream.

The Dalton High School Student Council hosts the New Year’s Eve dance in the high school auditorium. Dancing runs from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Stag tickets cost 50 cents, couples 75 cents.

Church Adds Eight Rooms West Lebanon Methodist expansion near completion

A $20,000 West Lebanon Methodist Church addition is near completion. Started last spring the 28 by 44 foot extension with full basement adds a theater room fellowship room five classrooms a kitchen and two restrooms. The fellowship room doubles as a children's chapel and parking lot will be expanded.

Scouts Deliver Fruit Baskets to Shut-Ins During Christmas Party

The Intermediate Girl Scouts hosted a Christmas party replacing their regular meeting with caroling and fruit baskets delivered to shut-ins. Twenty five Girl Scout world pins were awarded, a gift exchange occurred, and hot chocolate jello and cupcakes were served by troop leaders. The next meeting is January 7 with a 3.50 fee for March swimming lessons.

Freida Kreiger hosted the Bid Em High 500 Club in East Greenville. Prizes went to Mrs. Lillian Neshcoff and to the hostess. Refreshments were served and a gift exchange was held. Mrs. Ruth Long of Massillon will be the next hostess.
