A federal order defines official time zone boundaries in the United States and sets effective 2 am January 1. The eastern central line through Ohio follows Michigan borders and cities like Toledo Fremont Monroeville Mansfield Marion Columbus Lancaster and Gallipolis. Orrville and nearby towns switch to eastern time while Dalton remains unchanged. Railroads in the area will schedule on eastern time.
