Costly Wreck South of Dalton
A Wheeling and Lake Erie freight train out of Toledo jumped the track west of Snively crossing south of Dalton Sunday afternoon. The 162 ton locomotive and 14 loaded cars plunged into a swamp, injuring fireman John Steine and leaving engineer Glenn Spencer safe. Crews from Brewster and Toledo cleared the line by Monday afternoon with traffic resumed 24 hours after the crash.
