Christmas cards featured at Scott Drug Store from 36c to 97c. Mrs. David E. Garver of Cold Spring, Ky., spent several days at the E. F. Scott home. The season brought heavy snow and a record cold morning. Betty Marker and Helen Bentley visited the Marker parents. Bentley's parents are Iran missionaries. Margaret Slusser returned from Oklahoma and California. Recent guests at the B. F. Garman home included Grace Faust, Carrie Vernon, and Rev. and Mrs. Charles Gruber. Christmas Socials Highlight Dalton Garden Club Notes
The Dalton Garden Club hosted 37 members and 10 guests at the Presbyterian Church basement on December 1 for a Christmas party with a lunch, a history talk, pantomime greetings, and a gift drive for Wooster Children’s Home. Bethany Class, Ladies Aux, and Sugar Creek Grange held related gatherings with awards, songs, and community service themes. New church association officers were elected for 1950, with multiple volunteers named for roles including social education and missions.

Infant David Lee Santmyer Committal Held
Committal services were held for infant David Lee Santmyer son of Mr. and Mrs. Myron Santmyer Monday at 1 p m in Dalton cemetery. He was born at Massillon city hospital Sunday afternoon December 4 and lived four hours. Funeral arrangements were by Monbarren funeral home, Doylestown.

William C. Hauenstein 79 died at home in West Lebanon after a brief illness. A lifelong resident he was a carpenter with Nuss Builders. Survived by wife Ruth a son Carol a brother Oliver a sister Mrs Clara Douglas and a grandchild. Funeral at 3 p m Tuesday Desvoignes funeral home Mt Eaton with Rev Leo Myers officiating. Last Friday evening a few friends gathered at the Earl Hofstetter home to celebrate Richard Hofstetter's birthday.
