James Cunningham a 65 year old retired farmer and his daughter Miss Jessie were struck by a through freight train while crossing a railroad track in Apple Creek. The buggy was hurled far as the horse died instantly and Miss Jessie was badly injured with a crushed skull and head injuries.
A calf with five legs was born Monday on the Fred Lautenschlager farm west of town. The extra leg joins near the shoulder, is stiff at the knee, and ends in a three-toe hoof. The calf is reported alive and in good condition though it lacks a tail.

Mrs. Geo. Gallatin nee Mary Caldwell of Massillon died Saturday morning at Massillon City Hospital aged 51. She leaves her husband four daughters her mother Mrs Susan Caldwell and brothers George and John Caldwell. Funeral from U P church Tuesday afternoon with interment at Dalton cemetery.
East Greenville 15 year old William Hines died Saturday morning from injuries suffered Friday afternoon when struck by a speeding car that fled the scene. Hines was riding a bicycle and sustained a severe scalp wound and a fractured wrist before being taken to Massillon city hospital. The motorist was later apprehended at Canton.
Renewals for the Ohio Farmer The Stockman and The Country Gentleman can be paid to E. F. Scott in Dalton Ohio. The notice lists these titles and the single payer contact in Dalton.

A 1918 letter from Mrs. Della Homan Moseley describes life in Luanda Angola. She notes warm weather, a mixed expatriate community, residence near the former German Consulate, wide palm lined streets, and local entertainment including bands and cinema. She mentions the new Angola governor, favorable exchange rates, steady food supply, gasoline rationing, monthly mail, and regular war cables.
Reuben Brinker 70 died at his Canal Fulton home Monday night. Lifelong resident, he left a widow and eight children: Mrs James Hoover, Canal Fulton. Mrs Phares Brenner near Canal Fulton. Mrs C Margo, Manchester. Mrs Ehiram Wolf, this place. Frank near Canal Fulton. Ray Chicago. Archie New Castle Pa. Eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive. Funeral Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Reformed church with Rev. J. Smith officiating.
