Dalton High School presents the Japanese operetta Yokohama Maid this Friday at eight. Tickets urged, with last week’s Gazette listing story and cast details and a long list of musical numbers from Overture through Wedding Bells finale.
A vesper service will be held at Salem Mennonite Church on Sunday afternoon December 7 at 3 00. Two Chinese youths from Bluffton College will deliver messages in English. They are Christians guided in part by Mrs Sylvia Tschantz Pennabacker and will be accompanied by Dr Ed G Kaufman. The public is invited.
Two armed men robbed William Winkle at the East Greenville pool hall on a Saturday night between 9 and 10 o clock. They held up the proprietor and about a dozen patrons and escaped with roughly $30 in cash before driving toward Massillon. Police searched but found no trace of the suspects.
Forty eight attended the annual banquet hosted by the Chamber of Commerce honoring the U S football team. Presbyterian ladies catered in church hiding rooms with black and orange decor displayed.
Saturday night and Sunday brought considerable rain and snow improving moisture. A county plan to sell Anti tuberculosis Christmas Seals uses school children in rural areas and mailing in towns. In Dalton and nearby townships seals are mailed to broaden reach, with a letter from the County Christmas Seal Committee and seals included. If someone misses them, they can contact a local school or phone the school to obtain more seals. All for health and health for all.
Pokeberry Moses Martin arrived in Dalton after a summer near Dayton Virginia. The Martins of Columbiana host relatives while a community group attended Mrs. Snyder’s funeral near East Greenville. Local clergy and families marked Thanksgiving with visits and travel between Medina and Goshen Indiana with several improving health notes.
Carl Chilcotte of R. D. 1 Navarre fell 36 feet from an electric light pole while working on a line to the Dalton Coal Co. mine south of town. He was unconscious 48 hours and is now partially recovered.

Secretary of State Clarence J. Brown announced license plates went on sale December 1 at 550 distribution points across Ohio. Cars may use 1931 plates starting December 21 with a deadline of December 21 midnight for 1430 plates, while Pennsylvania maintains a central Harrisburg station.
Matilda Mary Jane Clark born March 1868 died November 25 1930 at age 62 8 2. She married Daniel Schwartz November 27 1886 and they had nine children seven daughters two sons all living. Survived by husband nine children 27 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral poetry laments her passing and rest in heavenly peace.
