Canal Days Festival planning under way in Canal Fulton
The Canal Days Festival Committee met at Canal Fulton Fire Station to outline plans for the 1972 festival. An additional planning meeting is set for Tuesday Dec 14 at 8 p.m. at the fire station to include more local groups. Current members include the Canal Fulton Jaycees VFW Post 9795 Canal Fulton Volunteer Fire Department Canal Fulton Rotary Club and Canal Fulton Heritage Society. The treasurer lists 1971 expenses with totals for entertainment parade fireworks insurance prizes printing trophies ticket refunds cleanup and other items. services by sheriff department and Red Cross were donated.

Lifetime membership awarded to Canal Fulton VFW Post 9795 quartermaster
Claude Arman, quartermaster of Canal Fulton VFW Post 9795 since its founding seven years ago, received a life membership at a post meeting. The post seeks approval to form a Nowesae Wars for boys 6 to 16 with 17 showing interest and plans a tri county council gathering. Donations are being accepted for the annual Christmas party for children of members on December 17. Next post meeting is Monday December 6.

Christmas Hanging of the Greens program set at Central YWCA
The annual Christmas Hanging of the Greens will be held at the Central YWCA on Sunday December 5 starting at 3 p.m. Children from YWCA Tom Thumb playschool tiny ballerina class and Manchester YWCA dance classes perform in An Old Fashioned Christmas. Lincoln Margaret Park teen clubs and St. Vincent high teens join with Santa Claus visit and refreshments.
