Tragic Garage Accident Injures Two Year Old Bobby Domer

Two year old Bobby Domer, son of Mr and Mrs Walter Domer, is in critical condition at Massillon city hospital after a garage accident Friday. He was playing when a heavy acetylene welding tank toppled and crushed his chest, causing internal bleeding and a blood transfusion from his mother.

Wayne County Fair in Wooster Offers Free Cars and Cash Prizes

The eighty sixth Wayne County Fair in Wooster September 24 to 27 will award three automobiles free. Cars will be chosen at the September 14 board meeting. Total cash premiums reach 7700 with premiums by department including Horses 850 Cattle 750 Sheep 250 Hogs 350 Poultry 250 Agriculture 750 Home Economics 250 Junior Fair 1250 Schools 600 Speed 2400. WTAM stars appear daily with Raum’s educated horses performing each day. Marble Tournament At Hokey's Shop Draws Dalton Boys

In the room adjoining Hokey's Barber Shop coached by Emer son Hostetler, Dalton area youths competed seven hours Friday and Saturday. Lester Ickes, Leslie Sandwith, Carl Edward Brown led Friday. Ickes and Junior Steiner led Saturday. The final score 22 to 17 gave Junior Steiner the prize. 4500 marble snaps were counted and the distance would equal 65 miles if rolled. Hostetler announced a spring rematch.

Dalton Community Club Meets Friday Evening

The Dalton Community club will meet Friday night at the Presbyterian church dining room. Dinner at 6 30 includes Melon Cocktail Fried Chicken Dressing Mashed Potatoes Gravy Corn and Beans Sliced Tomatoes Bread and Butter Peach Pie a la mode Coffee.

A Union Service of the churches of Dalton will be held at the United Presbyterian church Sunday evening September 1 at 7 30. Rev C B Fowler of the Presbyterian church is expected to preach the sermon and a cordial invitation is extended to all to attend.

Well Known Business Man Passes Away

Reuben P. Vankirk aged 62 died suddenly Friday evening after a stroke. He lived in Dalton and ran a retail coal business for 15 years. Survived by widow, son Reuben Jr of Cleveland, daughter Mrs Velma Doty, and granddaughter Marcella of Shreve. Funeral Monday at the Methodist church. Burial in Dalton cemetery. Miss Emma Amstutz daughter of Mr and Mrs Dan B Amstutz became the bride of Mr Ralph Gonter son of Mr and Mrs E C Gonter of Dalton in a lawn ceremony at the bride's parents home. Rev A R Keiser officiated with violin music and a wedding march. Guests included family and close friends. The couple left for a weeklong eastward honeymoon and will reside with the Amstutz family after returning.

Miss Flyera Sommer and Murray Gerber will appear on Major Bowe's amateur hour next Sunday evening, Sept. 1, from 7 to 8 over the NBC chain. They plan to leave for New York Thursday afternoon. Class No 10 of the M E Sunday School hosted Bloomville youths on Aug 25 for Sunday School, a picnic at High Mill Dam, and games. thirty eight attendees enjoyed a ball afternoon.
