Band Carnival and Homecoming Draw Large Crowd
About 5,000 people attended the annual Band Carnival and Homecoming by the 11th Regiment band and the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday. Four guest bands in uniform performed, with extensive dancing, games, and a pond with live ducks. The Strasburg School band, led by Prof. Greco of Dover, received special praise for 56 pieces and high quality music. Continuous concerts lasted past midnight as former residents returned and crowds kept the streets lively.

Injured World War Veteran Thrown From Car on Burton City Road
Bernard Weisel, a World War veteran, suffered deep cuts to head and face after being forcibly ejected from his car on McFarren hill while driving to Ezra Good's residence for milk. To avoid a parked car he skidded on gravel ridges, the car rolled, he was found unconscious, Dr. W. W. Chiles treated him and he was taken by Stockham's ambulance to Massillon City hospital.

Fire destroys Swanger home and outbuildings
A gasoline explosion in a summer kitchen on the Hecka thorn farm south east of the residence burned a daughter of Lee Swanger while she lit a lantern to fill a lamp. The drum exploded and fire damaged the home and barn as local firefighters responded.
