Dalton will host its annual Band Carnival and Festival together with the dedication of new street lights on Thursday evening August 21 1980. Organizers plan a gala event with attractions and band concerts and urge public participation.
G A Berg announces purchase of John H Shade stock and will reopen as The Dalton Dry Goods Store. The store closes for invoicing this week and opens Friday Aug 15 at 8 30 AM with a special bargain sale to attract early shoppers.
Members of the Band Carnival committees and all interested are urged to attend the town hall Thursday night. This is the last meeting before the carnival.

Fifty attended the picnic at Clyde Wenger's home on Tuesday evening. Clyde relaxed in an easy chair while greeting friends and enjoying fried chicken. The crowd played outdoor games before and after the meal.
