Bricker to Speak at Wooster Potato Day

Governor John W. Bricker will address the Potato Day gathering at the Ohio Experiment Station in Wooster Friday August 4 in the afternoon program. He will travel from Cleveland after attending the World Poultry Congress in the city.

Orrville Names New Head of Municipal Utilities

James Specht, 32, appointed head of Orrville's Municipal Utilities after the death of A. D. Webster. Specht has spent eight years in Orrville as electrical engineer for the Hasan Corporation of Pittsburgh and is described as well fitted for the position.

The Dalton 11th Regiment Band performs an open air concert at the band stand Saturday night August 8 15 at 8 15 with Sousa Overture Jolly Robbers Fox Trot East Side of Heaven Burke Selection Prince Charming Love and Loyalty March American Guard and more under Professor Don Garver director.

George A. Cully Dies at 64 After Illness Near Dalton

George A. Cully, 64, died Tuesday evening August 1 1939 at his home two miles northeast of Dalton after several months illness. He was a lifelong farmer, son of the late Samuel Cully, and is survived by three children Donald of Doylestown Grace Gerber and Susanna Amstutz both of the area. his wife preceded him in death. He also leaves two brothers Warren of Dalton and Herbert J of Cleveland and a sister Elizabeth Cully of Wooster along with five grandchildren. Funeral from his home Friday at 2 pm with Rev A J Sanders Presbyterian pastor officiating. Burial in Dalton cemetery. Eckard Bros of Akron in charge.

Ralph Fletcher Dies at 50 After Operation

Ralph W. Fletcher 50 died Friday in an Akron hospital after surgery. He is survived by his wife Nettie and daughter Ruth of 218 Twin Oak Rd Akron, three brothers Claude Cleveland David North Lawrence Logan Barberton, two sisters Mrs Henry Rabey North Lawrence and Mrs James Sigler Wooster. He was son of the late Milton Fletcher of Burton City, an Akron Methodist Church member and World War II veteran. Soldiers gave brief services in Akron before funeral at Burton City Methodist Church. Burial followed at Dalton Cemetery.

Evangelistic Meetings Set for Dalton August September
