The township spelling contest held Monday evening at the school house crowned banners for Earl Kuligovske in 7th 8th oral and Ila Hess in 5th 6th written. Moscow district captured three banners awarded to Ellis Hostetter Marion Hofstetter and Dorothy Moser for 7th 8th oral 3d 4th oral and written. LeRoy Moser earned the sixth banner in 5th 6th oval. Automobile Stolen From Akron Garage
Messrs. C. F. and D. W. Buchwalter rushed to Cleveland Friday night for their brother R. C. Buchwalter ailing. C. F. Buchwalter drove a Ford Sedan to Akron left in a garage and on returning Tuesday found it stolen with no clue. This is the second theft of his car. the earlier one occurred in Canton and was discovered before any getaway. The vehicle was insured.

Whooping cough claims infant in town area
Harold Wenger an 18 month old child of Mr and Mrs Martin Wenger living about half a mile northwest of town died Monday evening at six oclock from the effects of whooping cough. The funeral will be Thursday morning at 11 oclock from the Martin church.

R C Bookwalter aged 51 died at home 1636 Robinhood Ave Lakewood following a short illness. He is survived by a wife and one daughter three brothers Rev I J D W and C F of this place and a sister Mrs A W Eschliman of North Lawrence. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm from Lakewood Presbyterian Church with interment at Lakeview Cemetery.

Death of Mrs Caldwell after long illness in Dalton
Susan Stoner Caldwell born August 1 1839 in Wood county near Toledo Ohio died in Dalton April 15 1920 aged 80 years 8 months 8 days after about a year of declining health. She married William Basom in 1857 and William Basom died in the army. She had two children C W Basom Gordon Nebraska and Mrs L J Capp North Lawrence Ohio. In 1866 she wed William H Caldwell and they had Mary E Gallatin George and John Caldwell. Mary Gallatin died about 18 months ago. There are ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She moved from Wood county in 1864 and resided in Dalton area until death and was a longtime member of the United Presbyterian Church. Funeral Sunday at the U P church conducted by Rev W H Hubbell of Cleveland with scripture read by Rev Thompson of Bellaire and prayer led by Rev Conrad.
