Dalton Chamber Banquet Honors Dalton High Basketball Teams
The Dalton Chamber of Commerce hosted a Thursday banquet at the M E church dining room honoring Dalton High School girls and boys basketball squads. Decorations featured black and orange colors and rainbow balloons while a large silver basketball trophy for 1980 sat at the speakers’ table. Kilmer Landes of Wooster gave a life view speech, praising effort and influence, and Coach Miller received a leather traveling bag as appreciation.

Clarence Tedrow Dies After Wadsworth Shooting
Clarence Tedrow fifty two died at Wadsworth hospital from gunshot wounds received Saturday night when Henry Vaughn pool-room proprietor shot him in the head. He is survived by a sister Mrs Ida Ralston and two nephews E L and W P Slusser. Funeral services were held Saturday from Taylor's Funeral Home with Rev Elliott of the M E church officiating. Burial in Dalton cemetery.

High School Notes on Farm Meeting and Seed Testing
Three reels of motion pictures will be shown at the farmers meeting Monday evening April 14 in the Dalton H S Auditorium. E Elliott from Ashland county and a district supervisor of the Ohio Farm Bureau will be on the program. Seed corn germination averaged 70 percent in Vocational Agriculture results, urging seed testing to avoid poor stands replanting and lower yields. The V A boys offer to test seed corn if told. Also advised to check seed oats this spring as oats last season were generally poor and immature. A little time now could decide this year’s crop success. Don’t take the chance.

Sunnnenberg Farmers Benefit From Weather And Community Activities
Sonnemberg farmers used good weather to plow and sow oats last week. A daughter was born Sunday the 6th to the Wm. Miller home, tenant of J. P. Sommer of Kidron. A quilting session at Wilson Hofstetter produced four quilts and a spread for missionary funds. Missionary John Thiesen spoke on furlough from India, sharing faith and field notes from Bluffton Seminary. Relatives dig up graves showing lack of markers. Fred Badertscher to supervise grave plot care going forward.
