At the regular Board of Education meeting on Tuesday evening September Ralph Hathaway and Principal Geo Eastman were re elected to two year contracts. The Board applied to the state to place the Home Economics department under the same plan as Vocational Agriculture.
The Dalton Y M F C held its last regular weekly meeting with fifteen members present. Discussion covered AAA, fertilizer ingredient orders, and making our own mix. A ball team will be formed for summer. An educational trip for 2 or 3 days is planned this spring. A Father and Son banquet is being prepared by Home Economics. The county banquet will be April 11 at 7 PM at Apple Creek and all members are urged to attend. Summer monthly meetings will be the first Monday evenings.
Tonight at Snyder Service Co on East Main Street a free screening of Highway Patrol is offered. The event runs after dark and welcomes all residents to enjoy the film at no cost.
Mt Eaton resident John Graber 65 died Monday evening at home after several weeks of illness. A 30 year village barber, he is survived by his wife two children Merle and Mrs. Robert Prine of near Massillon, a brother Elmer and six sisters, plus three grandchildren. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm at home with Rev Flohr officiating, burial in Mt Eaton cemetery. DesVoignes in charge.

The Jung Frauen Home Economics club hosted a 2 to 4 pm tea in the high school auditorium on Saturday. Sixty attendees enjoyed a turned tea room with wicker seating and yellow jonquils as Marjorie Lehman and Peggy Wertz poured. A literary and musical program featured Mildred Horst as host, with multiple performances and remarks.
Local brief items report fishing licenses at Scott's Store and a new Bell telephone number for Ellis Buchwalter. Elllis Camp and Grace Amstutz are home for spring vacation from Wooster and Kent. Families move into East Greenville and Liberty Center. The D H S baseball team begins practice with George Eastman coach. Auto thefts occur near East Union church.
The Kidron Gospel Tabernacle invites worshipers to hear Rev. Ray Moore from St Louis next Sunday morning April 7 for spiritual uplifting.
