Washington February 26 President Taft will not answer Roosevelt speeches before his Ohio trip. Roosevelt headquarters in Washington are enlarged, Medill McCormick announced. McCormick said Roosevelt’s announcement limits Taft to avoid a fight until the convention. Lovellette managers gave no formal range on Roosevelt’s path into the presidential race.

Triple wreck near Unionville rocks Pennsylvania line
A collision involving two freight trains and a fast passenger train occurred on the Pennsylvania railroad near Unionville, twenty miles from Columbus. The freight trains were wrecked and the passenger train collided with wreckage. the engine and two coaches were ditched but no passengers were injured.

Horse theft arrest in Union Heights manhunt
George Gusals, a Syrian, was arrested Monday by Constable William Post at Abraham Gary’s dwelling in Union Heights, charged by Justice G. J. Gordon’s court after a complaint by Mike Adbella of Parkersburg that Gusals feloniously stole a horse in Marietta. Adbella planned a warrant against Gusals in Parkersburg for stealing several articles earlier. Gustis remained in county jail awaiting transport to Marietta.

Woman Charged in Jewelry Theft Case in Parkersburg
Mrs Annie Hilton alias Annie Mel Peok faces a writ before Justice H Gordon on charges of grease and theft after a $25 ring and a $20 diamond were found at the residence of Dr Fi Ta Jackson a veterinary surgeon. She was arrested Saturday in Parkersburg at the request of Clarksville authorities and brought to the county by Constable William Post. Mrs Hilton previously appeared in court two years ago on a charge of stealing clothing from Mrs Robert Stirs where she was employed as a domestic.
