The Thaw trial proceeds with Delmas directing Evens testimony while Evans and Wagner recount Thaw’s state of mind after the 1907 killing. Doctors say Thaw claimed no intent to kill White, citing Providence and moral duty as motives, with Will evidence to be admitted.
Senator Thorn voted against the resolution to investigate state institutions offered by Campbell, aided by Hill, Miller, and White. McCrum introduced a bill to elect a railroad commission. The house panel reported adversely on the car supply bill. A tuberculous hospital resolution passed the senate. A general appropriation bill was introduced. A mining bill making changes in existing laws passed the senate. Senator Talbott of Upshur was reportedly ill.
Gr W Rinker died Monday at Kessler Hospital after a lingering illness. He was 46, survived by his wife of Washington Junction Virginia, a married daughter in Virginia, and one brother. A Clarkertown resident for two years, he previously worked two to three years as a bartender at Duffy's Imperial Saloon and belonged to the Rural Bartenders Union which will attend the funeral. The body will be taken to Washington Junction Va for the funeral.
James Ong sues James Taylor in the circuit court claiming 25000 damages for the alleged seduction of Belle Ong about a year ago. The filing promises a sensational trial and is noted as the first such case in this court since Bey famous Bee va. Martin was moved from Ritchie county years ago.
From early morning till evening the God Methodist church held a series of revival services with strong attendance. Bro M S Riley led the class meeting at 9, Harvey W Harmer supervised Sunday school, and Rev sermons on Lent and Christian temptation drew a large audience. Miss Roger of Parkersburg sang a solo. At 3 o clock the men’s meeting titled Why You Should be a Christian featured Harvey W Harmer Dr E N Flowers and Judge W Lynch giving three reasons each. The Epworth League devotional at 6:30, Studies in Christian Experience, inspired many. Evening overflow meetings were led by M S Riley and Geo W Peck. Revival continues with further services and a Plea for Mercy planned for tonight.
Edgar Robbins, from Cincinnati, is jailed in Clarksburg pending grand jury action on obtaining money under false pretenses. Hazel Atlas Glass manager W H Lewis said Robbins was sent $7.06 to travel to Clarksburg and start work, but refused upon arrival and repaid funds at times. He faces CRNIT court next term, bond set at $500, unable to post.
Roy Matson, eighteen, was taken to the miners hospital after a dynamite blast at Perry Mines left him with severe eye injuries and facial burns. His condition is reported as very serious. A foreign worker from Pinnickin Ulck mines sustained crushed hip and side injuries.
At Highland Light Mich Fab 1, the barge Girard ran ashore with two crew drowned. Two other barges, driven ashore near Peak Bar, were towed by the Valley Forse but the tug’s whereabouts were unclear. Dr HV Warner returns from Pittsburg business trip. Benjamin A Reeder of Shinnston visited hometown on Monday.
Michael Multhaupt a 40 year old Baltimore man died in the city lockup Sunday morning from heart trouble believed caused by excessive drinking. He had been arrested Saturday afternoon near Tri ers Alley by Officers Simms and London White. The coroner ruled no inquest needed, and the body was to be shipped to Baltimore per relatives' requests.
Mohammed Ali Merza, born 1872, is proclaimed Shah of Persia with the title Shahinshah king of kings. He rules 33 provinces and is estimated to be worth about 15 million dollars, much derived from crown diamonds including two stones weighing 186 and 146 karate. Meanwhile, a separate report notes a train delay incident where forty to fifty passengers endured nearly fourteen hours trapped after four box cars derailed near Brown and Smithfield, with little help and poor telegraph access.
Ed Dawson of Weston was found dead in the Weston lockup Monday morning after sleeping there following a tax and heart trouble episode. He was a brother of Bud Dawson, the former Weston saloon operator, and his death occurred sometime during the night.

Delegate Charles M Hart offered a substitute to house bill 249 authorizing Clarksburg to issue bonds for refunding debt and city improvements. The substitute set bond issuance at 8255,000 and passed to third reading, reducing the original 800,000 amount to meet a 2 percent constitutional limit.

Mary Morris wife of Erneal B Morris died at home Sunday afternoon from typhoid pneumonia after about two weeks illness. aged 40, daughter of John Latstetter and Elizabeth Latstetter, sister of Joseph Latstetter and Mrs Anthony McAnstow, mother of seven. Funeral at Catholic church tomorrow at 10 am with interment at Holy Cross cemetery.
A small blaze broke out Monday morning at Mrs. Frank Fisherty’s Bodkin Alley home in a clothes press up there. A bucket brigade helped guide it outside before the fire department arrived. Damage estimated at about five dollars with some flames affecting a portion of a room and a few buttons burned.
