Near Folsom in the Eagle district the South Penn Oil Company drilled a second test on the Ellsba Atha farm reaching 21 feet into the Gordon formation. The shore has moved up and production improves with deeper drilling. On the S. S. Shriver farm the South Penn Company has operated for more than three months and is producing over ten barrels a day.

Gas Roar Affects Carl Sinsel Hearing At Hotel
Carl Sinsel day clerk at the Traders hotel visited a new gas well at Wilsonburg Sunday morning. The well was being capped and the gas roar deafened him for hours. He feared possible permanent hearing loss but recovered enough to dispense with an ear trumpet by day’s end.

Appeal Taken By Tom Fields
Attorney Charles McCamb of Moundsville appeared before Judge A G Dayton in the United States court at Philippi for Thomas M Pierds, a Washington lawyer now in the Manndville penitentiary on a five year embezzlement sentence. The writ of habeas corpus was argued last October. Dayton refused jurisdiction. The transcript was certified and an appeal to the Supreme Court granted. McCamb plans to move to advance the case when the Supreme Court convenes next year.
