Fire damages a residence in Mechani c Fifth streets area
Fire broke out at the corner of Mechanic and Fifth streets in Getelok Sunday evening. A short circuit and gas leak caused an explosion under the roof. the fire was quickly put out by the department. Furnishings in the dining room and one bedroom suffered water damage and smoke. total loss estimated at 75 dollars with house insurance covering about 200 dollars. The frame house, owned by Mrs Lynch and B Reblaxen, stood near other frames and escaped major damage due to prompt response.
