Local police escort William H. Bowers to Winchester to identify Raymond Myers of Canton Ohio and Bert King of Pittsburgh as the pair who held up his Frederick Street filling station last week. Myers and King pleaded guilty to a $200 station robbery at Winchester and were bound for further action. Virginia Brandy of Akron Ohio, arrested with them in Van Wert Ohio, was held as a material witness and pleaded innocent. Limper Given Sixteen Years For Robberies and Escape
Irvin D. Limper, Baltimore's "skip-hop" bandit, who escaped from Roxbury State Penal Farm while serving a 20 year term, received an additional sixteen year sentence from Judge Emory H. Niles for holdups committed during fugitive status. Limper testified about his criminal career across Tennessee, Kentucky, and Chicago and said he briefly worked honest jobs while on the run. He was arrested in Chicago after a return visit to Baltimore and involvement in payroll robberies including the Central Finance Company holdup and the Maryland Steel Products heist, and will serve 12 years on his original term alongside the new sentence.
