In a sequence of pistol fights sparked by the murder of Susie Sharp a motorist, five men along with two officers and three outlaws die. Deputy Webster Reece and Bud McClain are killed. four suspects including Ky Carlisle and Troy Lovequist die as possemen close in. Sheriff Cannon notes Carlisle led the gang. Coronation Highlight Of Closing Day At Hagerstown Fair
Miss Helen J. Knepper crowned Miss Hagerstown with a diamond ring and loving cup before a record grandstand crowd at the Fairgrounds Saturday night. Prizes for ladies-in-waiting, baby king and queen, and 32 baby show awards were handed out. Second prize went to Miss Zelia Saunders and third to Miss Sylvia Lyon with a 15 jewel wrist watch. Master of ceremonies Willson announced parade prize winners and 16 silver loving cups were distributed. Health and class prizes were awarded to several entrants, with runners up named in multiple categories.

Charles E. Hillyard of Hagerstown route 2 was arrested yesterday for driving while intoxicated after his car struck Marjorie Ernst, youngest daughter of J William Ernst, at Wayside avenue and Locust Street. The girl escaped injury. Patrolmen Mechling and Ray made the arrest.

Forced Landing Near Bedford Damages Plane
Joseph E. McDaniels of 816 Virginia Avenue escaped injury when the plane he rode as a passenger made a forced landing among the Allegheny Mountains about 15 miles west of Bedford Pennsylvania yesterday afternoon. Pilot J. J. Laher of Bedford also escaped injury as the ship was demolished. McDaniels told acting desk clerk J. B. Brown at Police headquarters that neither occupant was hurt and he was then en route to Hagerstown in an automobile.
