Traffic Halts For Air Raid Drill Amid Theft Probe

Man jailed in grocery order racket case
John C. Bingaman, 23, of Greencastle, was sent to jail for 30 days after ordering groceries at small stores and not paying. Magistrate Faul Ottinger called the case pathetic as Bingaman claimed illness and lack of work. He admitted using stores for meals and stealing meat, canned goods, and baked items, leaving merchants frustrated and short of stock.
