Washington September 1 The Senate campaign funds committee ordered immediate probing into reports of political activity in Pennsylvania steel mills. Secretary of Commonwealth David L. Lawrence and Democratic state chairman charged coercion and intimidation by Carnegie Illinois and Jones and Laughlin firms. Hearings may open in Pittsburgh within a week or two.

State imposes 18 hour milk delivery rule in Maryland
Baltimore Sept 1 The State Health Department orders milk for sale to be delivered within 18 hours and kept under 60 degrees F. Equipment to cool and sterilize utensils is required. Capped bottles must be mechanically sealed and cattle tuberculin testing becomes obligatory. Health officers will report any communicable persons at dairy farms. If violations occur, the matter may go to the Department of Justice.

Three Killed in Plane Fall At East Meadow Long Island
Three private plane occupants died when the aircraft failed to recover from a tail spin and plunged into a field near East Meadow on Monday. Pilot Lieutenant Jack Bishop, a World War II flier with the Canadian Air Corps, is believed to have lost control while watching a barn burn. Passengers Roy Anderson, 31, of Jackson Heights, and Raymond George William Carlson, 19, of Westbury, perished instantly as the plane crashed upside down.

August Building Permits Hit New Monthly High
City Engineer Joseph I. Lyon issued permits for 16 buildings totaling 100,825 in August, the highest monthly figure in some time. August 1935 construction valued at 23,685, while the prior month swelled by a 365,000 Professional Arts Building project in Public Square by D. Ramacciotti. Frederick Milk Prices Hold Steady Despite Regional Rises
Frederick Maryland dealers said milk prices here will not follow the upward trend seen in Hagerstown and Martinsburg West Virginia. Martinsburg raised to 11 cents per quart while Frederick has paid that rate for a year. Hagerstown moved from 9 to 10 cents per quart.

Frederick Md Sept 1 Rev Charles D Shaffer general secretary of the Young Men's Christian Association suffered slight injuries when bending to tie his shoe. He had foot propped on a building step as a truck swung into the alley pinning his other leg against the wall. The driver said he could not see the minister bent over. He was treated for bruises and shock.
Runaway Boys Held After Telegraph Money Request
Neville Buchanan and Bert Swor, both 18, appeared at a local telegraph office seeking money from their parents in New York City. Patrolman Luther Broom nabbed them at Police Headquarters on the parents' request. They admitted they had not eaten for a day and planned to surrender as runaways. Burro Attack Injures Postmas ter’s Wife in Prescott
A maddened burro attacked Mrs Ma Pel Washington wife of the Ashfork postmaster injuring her severely. Witnesses said the animal bit large flesh portions from her scalp arms and body. Hospital attendants feared brain concussion. Washington killed the burro with a club.

Maryland farm plan outlines five year program
In Baltimore on September 1 a five year farm improvement program for Maryland received approval from over twenty state agricultural groups including the Grange and the Maryland Farm Bureau. Led by Dr. T B Symons the plan aims to boost feed production and cattle numbers while pushing wheat yields up one bushel per acre and reducing soil erosion. Dairy yields per cow target up 25 percent with regulated production, poultry aims for better egg marketing and more turkeys, truck crop costs to fall, asparagus plantings to rise, and tobacco shifting toward cigarette type produce to keep pace.

Westinghouse workers receive 14 percent pay increase
In Pittsburgh on September 1, Westinghouse Electric and Manufacturing Company paid an extra 14 percent to about 40,000 employees under the excess earnings plan. Each employee received an additional one percent for every $60,000 the company earned above $600,000 a month, supplementing regular wages.
